From 2011 to 2016 I kept a somewhat regular journal that I posted excerpts of to my blog paired with photos I had taken that day. During these four years my best friends and I gave every ounce of energy we had to our band, Kingmaker. We went out on a lot of very low level, self-booked tours which usually cost us money to go on and did little for our morale. At the end of 2013 I had mostly finished writing songs for a new record. That was a pretty turbulent year with lots of member changes and one particularly long, grueling west coast tour. We were ready to start fresh with a new album and tour as much as possible. We had gotten a new manager a few months earlier and had just started working with our first booking agency. We were ready.

I bought my first rangefinder camera in 2013, I was 21. I started taking it on tour and doing my best to document the experience. It's interesting looking back at these photos and journal entires... the things I thought were important enough to photograph and write about seem so insignificant now. There are many stories from these travels that are undocumented and remembered by only a few people, and I think that's the way it should be. 

This was intended to be a short zine with some of my favorite memories from these years, but as I reread my journal (for the first time since writing) I felt that this time in our lives should be cataloged and not lost to the internet and our fading friendships. 

This book starts in the beginning of 2014 when we went to record a new album in Rochester, New York and details just over a year of touring during our busiest season as a band.

During this year of tour we crossed paths and traveled with countless other bands who appear in this book including; Left Behind, Knocked Loose, Villains/Yüth Forever, Church Tongue, Barrier, Foxing, Pillow Talk, Pvris, Narrow Hearts, No Bragging Rights, Widow, Greyhaven, and many more.
